Gieza Poke (she/they) aka Colin Comfort (he/she/they) is a Berlin-based drag performer & producer. Born in Scotland in 1986, Colin received his post-graduate in advanced architectural design at the University of Strathclyde. After moving to Berlin he was gradually drawn towards greater self-realisation and soon became an icon in the drag scene of Berlin as Gieza Poke.
Gieza curates and hosts several regular drag events in Berlin including the weekly new-comer show “Gieza’s PokeHouse” at Monster Ronsons; the monthly residency “RubberDolls” at Schwuz, together with the Berlin alternative drag collective The House of Presents. They have curated the performance programme of Cloud Cuckoo hangar at Fusion Festival since 2019 and performed at several music festivals such as Bushwig in NYC and on the main stage at Melt! Festival .
Colin’s background in architecture has led him to design and produce costume and sets for contemporary dance productions and the legendary queer Karaoke dance party CherrYO!kie since 2012.
In 2019 Gieza wrote her first full-length one woman show “aPOKEalypse Now; Mamoirs of a Gieza; I’M STILL HERE” which premiered at the Dock11 stage and received a 4 star review at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in national newspaper The Scotsman.
During the COVID-19 pandemic Gieza has morphed into the “Green Screen Queen of the Quarantine”, producing weekly digital shows and pioneering party concepts in both corporate and theatrical contexts. Most recently they streamed a new “Green Screen Re-imagineeng” version of “aPOKEalypse Now” to rave reviews.
